Reimagining the power of public spaces in Mississippi communities

A special thank you to all who attended the 2025 Mississippi Rural Placemaking Summit in Yazoo City!

The event, held on September 24, 2025 brought community leaders, creatives, public officials and change-makers for a day of learning, collaboration and inspiration. Through panels, hands-on sessions and real-world examples, participants explored how placemaking can transform communities one step at a time. From reimagining public spaces to utilizing the arts and storytelling to strengthen connections, the summit focused on both bold ideas and practical strategies that attendees could take home to their own towns.
